Clean and Green is Our Dream 2025
For the third consecutive year, as part of the global coastal cleanup campaign “World Clean Up Day 2025,” employees of Saracakis Group of Companies and Kinsen, together with volunteer divers, joined forces in a shared environmental action — cleaning Eden Beach in Palaio Faliro and the seabed of the Amfithea Nautical Club.
Under the motto “Clean and Green is Our Dream,” this highly successful team volunteering initiative — voluntarily coordinated by the environmental organization Clean Up Greece and supported by HELMEPA (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association) — resulted in the removal of a vast volume of waste and recyclable materials.
Twelve divers from two diving centers, Omega Divers and Diamond Adventures Dive Center, volunteered to carry out the underwater cleanup at the Amfithea Nautical Club.
The outcome was both impressive and disheartening: 2 tons of waste, including recyclables, mixed materials, industrial and bulky objects, tires, thousands of packages — and even a scooter — were retrieved from the seabed and removed from the busy beach area. These types of waste are considered particularly harmful and dangerous to the environment and the marine ecosystem.
A total of 13,640 cigarette butts were collected and immediately delivered to Cigaret Cycle for recycling — preventing the contamination of approximately 6,820 cubic meters of freshwater and seawater.
The ANIMA – Association for the Protection and Care of Wildlife once again took part, informing volunteers about the devastating effects of marine pollution on wildlife. In a symbolic yet meaningful gesture, ANIMA released two healthy young seagulls that had been previously rehabilitated.
The initiative was held under the auspices of the Region of Attica, with the participation of Nikos Hardalias, Regional Governor of Attica, Yiannis Fostiropoulos, Mayor of Palaio Faliro, and Niky Iakovlef, Deputy Mayor for Environment and Greenery.

For the second consecutive year with the motto "Clean and Green is Our Dream" we cleaned up the coast and seabed of Varkiza Beach leaving our positive environmental footprint. In the context of "World Clean Up Day 2024" employees along with their families, honored the values of volunteerism and demonstrated their love for the environment and nature by undertaking the coastal cleanup of Varkiza Beach.
At the same time, supporting the commendable initiative, 20 divers from three diving centers—Athens Divers Club, Scuba Life Dive Center, and Vouliagmeni Scuba Diving Club—volunteered to clean the Varkiza harbor underwater.
In just 2 hours, tons of waste, recyclable and mixed materials, bulky objects, and thousands of packages, deemed particularly harmful and dangerous to the environment and marine ecosystem, were removed. 2,800 cigarette butts were collected and delivered to the NGO Cigaret Cycle for processing and recycling, thus protecting both freshwater and saltwater from pollution.
ANIMA Wildlife Protection and Care Association released two healthy young seagulls it had cared for. The event was voluntarily coordinated by the environmental initiative Clean Up Greece and supported by Helmepa.
